Forgewell

Tolerances you can quote.

A 40-year-old foundry judged by export buyers on a website from 2011. We made its precision visible before the first call.

Forgewell: key visual

The brief we wrote

Forgewell: the problem.

Forgewell is a fictional precision castings supplier near Chakan, founded in 1984 and supplying automotive and pump manufacturers. It wants more export orders from European buyers.

Those buyers meet Forgewell first on a website from 2011 with a logo drawn in the 1980s, a PDF catalogue and a contact form that goes nowhere fast. The plant is better than anything the website shows.

What we’d deliver

  • Positioning for export buyers
  • Identity built on technical drawing
  • Website with product data sheets
  • RFQ flow and search content plan

Typical engagement

10 to 12 weeks

What the category does

  • Catalogues locked in large PDFs that engineers won’t download.
  • “Quality you can trust” with no numbers behind it.
  • RFQs by email only, answered whenever someone gets to them.

The insight

For an engineer, credibility is a number.

Forty years of history matters less to a buyer in Stuttgart than proof of what the plant can hold to within a tenth of a millimetre. Every claim becomes a specification, and the brand borrows its language from the technical drawing engineers already trust.

Three routes, one chosen

Three directions for Forgewell, one chosen.

Route A

Since 1984.

Heritage

Proud, but age isn’t what export buyers are shortlisting on.

Parked

Route B

Industry 4.0, today.

Future factory

Overpromises on automation and would not survive an audit visit.

Parked

Route C

Tolerances you can quote.

Technical drawing

Specific, verifiable and written in the buyer’s own language.

Chosen

01 · Identity

Forgewell: a brand that looks like itself.

A wide, engineered sans, machine black and steel, and one safety-orange accent used exactly where it would be on a shop floor: on the thing that matters. A crosshair grid, taken from technical drawings, organises every layout.

  • Wordmark set in Archivo Expanded
  • Machine black, steel and blueprint, with safety orange for emphasis
  • A crosshair grid from engineering drawings

02 · Website

The Forgewell website, built around the idea.

Every product and capability page leads with specifications: materials, tolerances, weight ranges and lead times. Certifications sit on the homepage, and a quote request accepts a drawing.

  • Product data sheets as searchable pages, not PDFs
  • Certifications and inspection capability up front
  • A request-a-quote flow that accepts STEP files and drawings
  • Application pages for the terms buyers search

03 · Mobile

Forgewell on mobile, where most customers meet it.

Buyers check suppliers between meetings. The mobile site gets them to a specification, a certificate or a quote request in two taps.

Forgewell: three mobile screens

04 · In the world

Forgewell, away from the screen.

The same drawing language runs across the data sheet, the trade-fair booth and the packaging labels on every export pallet.

How we’d know it worked

The numbers we’d agree for Forgewell on day one.

This is a concept, so there are no results to report. These are the measures we’d set with a real client before starting, and review every cycle.

01

Qualified RFQs from export markets

The goal of the whole engagement.

02

Time from RFQ to quote

The website promise of a price in 48 hours has to hold.

03

Search visibility for application terms

Being found by engineers who have never heard the name.

Why a concept?

Why Forgewell is a concept, and says so.

Forgewell doesn’t exist. We wrote this brief ourselves and took it through the same process we’d use with a client: research, a real insight, routes we could defend and the decisions that follow. Names, prices, people and places in the visuals are illustrative. Client work will appear here when clients say it can.
